Not a few moments later, a man--probably the one who cooked it--steps out from the kitchen and offers Hector a bow. Hector in turn thanks him, points to the cash sitting on the side table, and watches as he leaves.
When it's just the two of them, Hector grins at Vaer. ]
Vaer offers a courteous nod to the chef as they take their pay and depart, and once the door shuts behind them, they then offer an enigmatic little smile at Hector before they walk over to the table, silver eyes raking over the artfully-assembled spread there. ]
Well. Consider me impressed. This is certainly better than takeout.
[ Other people would probably be more impressed if Hector had made the meal himself, but let's be honest: neither of them can cook for shit, probably. ]
I recognized the chef, too. He heads a rather respectable establishment in town, doesn't he?
Hector follows behind Vaer, quietly leaning close behind them to rest a hand on the table. He puts his weight on the arm, glances down at the food, then back up at Vaer. ]
He does. I figured, if I'm going to be getting food catered for you, it better be good. You deserve the best.
